SCAM!!! Received a call at our salon asking for the owners, told them they were unavailable and asked to take a message. The guy said he was with KCPL with prompts to push that connected her to a live person. This person claimed the payment was showing in their system as delinquent for the past 2 months in the amount of $2,345.23 and in order to avoid a disruption in service we would need to pay a minimum of $2,000. When she asked the guy why the account was showing as current online, he said he needed to direct her to another department and transferred her to another "representative" lady who repeated the information about past due payments. After calling the lady out on the different of the KCPL number versus the contact number they gave us, she said the number they gave us was the direct line to billing instead of the General information line, because upset when we asked why our account was showing as up-to-date online, tried one last scare tactic about needing to pay to avoid disruption in service and finally hung up after we asked her to verify the exact amount of the last payment they received from us. Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to share the entire experience in case someone else gets caught off guard and can't access their account, especially since their number takes you to and automated system sounding like KCP&L.
