Business AlertBBB has been made aware that individuals are receiving threatening phone calls allegedly from Iristel notifying them of a requirement to pay the Canada Revenue Agency owed funds. BBB has determined the phone calls are from an imposter and not from Iristel. Before filing a complaint or customer review, please review the following information provided by Iristel:The phone calls in question are not being placed by Iristel. The phone number displayed has been resold to another company, however, as Iristel is still the legal carrier, their name is displayed when the number is searched. Unfortunately, Iristel is unable to search for the end-user of the number as their database is different than the resellers. In addition to the above, there have been cases of Caller- ID Spoofing, which means that someone might be using another consumer's phone number to hide their own identity. Due to privacy legislation, Iristel is unable to release contact information to individuals, but is willing and able to cooperate with police and government authorities. The company requests consumers file a complaint with their police service, and then forward the information to Iristel using the below contact information. Please include an occurrence number and name of officer.
