They did not leave a message, but I returned their call and they said they were calling with reference to a job I had applied for online and when I asked to which job they were referring, they said they had a lot of openings and it was impossible to tell me which one. They then repeated that they wanted me to answer some questions so that they could determine if I was right for the job I had applied for. I asked how could they know that if they didn't know which job I had applied for. It was a chaotic conversation in which they were obviously trying to fast talk their way into collecting information from me and they hung up on me when I asked how could they know if I was qualified if they didn't know which job I had applied for. The number is unsearchable in reverse phone directories, and when I called them back (25 times!), my call went straight to their automated answering message which gives you the option to 1) be placed on their do not call list or 2) for information how to contact them with further inquiries about a job listing. The latter leads you right back to repeating options 1 and 2 in an endless loop. They may well be recruiters or not, but either way they are behaving unethically.
