Received three calls from the number claiming to be from the Housing Assistance Authority. Wanting to talk about mortgage refinancing. When asked who the Housing Assistance Authority is, they just repeated that they are from the Housing Assistance Authority and wanted to press talking about my mortgage. When asked again who they are, the final response was "I'm with the Housing Assistance Authority, my call back number is #########." then a hang up. I don't remember the number they gave in the message, but it was different from the one they called on. It is a probably a scammer, and a highly sophisticated one as well. It's clearly an automated system. They either have a very good text to speech program to generate the voice or the hired an American woman to record the voice prompts. I'm sure that if I go along with the call, I'll eventually get transferred to a live person in India to finalize the scam.
