Was selling a car on Craig's List, Spokane & Coeur d'Alene only.- - - Person would not answer his phone, only text. - - - Person sent a check, exceeding amount agreed upon. Said it was for the transportation (movers) of the vehicle. (Not our responsibility)- - - Went to bank the check is written off of. Insufficient funds. Bank stated it was a valid business, with valid account number. Vancouver, Washington, business is in Oregon. Bank said it looked like fraud. I called the business and left a message.- - - Texted the person, he said to deposit it anyway...NO, we're not that dumb! He again said to deposit it anyway. (Why, so you could forge a check just like the one we received?)This is getting fun, will do some more digging. - - - The parcel that the check came in said it was from a different business than on the check. Looked up the address, comes back to a Columbia, South American business. Looked up the name, and it is a real business, but not the right address. - - - Checked the Tracking Number, it came from Harrington, Delaware...or at least someone dropped it off there. Hope it doesn't take too long for you to slip up ... we put the add in again, and got a text from another phone number, giving the same exact story...they want to send more money, to pay for the transportation...hahaha
